Hey there, fellow golf nuts! John Maddison here, the founder and lead writer of GolfProximity.com. If you can’t already tell from my passion, let me be upfront – I absolutely LOVE this game. Like, borderline obsession levels of love.

I caught the golf bug as a teenager and have been hopelessly hooked for over a decade now. I’ve played hundreds of rounds all across the country at this point. From municipal tracks to prestigious private clubs, if it has a fairway and greens, you can bet I’ve stalked it with my bag.

You could say I’m a bit of a golf studies nerd too. Whenever I’m not actually out playing, chances are you’ll find me devouring the latest instructional books, watching video tips from the pros, and endlessly analyzing my swing footage to find that elusive extra yard of distance.

After acquiring more golf knowledge than any sane person would want, I figured I should put it to good use and start sharing it with the world. Hence, GolfProximity.com was born!

My goal is simple – to create the kind of helpful, trustworthy golf resource that I craved for years as I tried to get better at this crazy, repetitive game. No gimmicks or over-hyped “pro secrets” here. Just real, proven advice from an everyman who’s lived on the course.
